CARE FOR YOUR HOME
Appliance & Home Safety
Protect Your Home. Maintain Your Appliances. Reduce Preventable Hazards.
Proper appliance maintenance helps you notice problems before they become more serious. Pay attention to lint buildup, restricted dryer exhaust, appliance cleanliness, ventilation and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Maintenance can reduce preventable risks; it cannot eliminate every hazard.

Dryer Vent Safety
Lint buildup and restricted exhaust airflow can lengthen drying times, cause excessive heat and increase fire risk. Clean the lint filter before or after each load according to your manual, and keep the exhaust path in good condition.
Warning signs worth checking
- Clothes taking unusually long to dry
- Dryer or clothing becoming unusually hot
- Excessive lint accumulation
- Weak airflow at the exterior vent
- Burning or unusual odors
- Crushed, damaged, disconnected or improperly installed venting
C M All offers dryer vent cleaning, dryer vent inspection and dryer vent replacement. Stop using a dryer with burning odors or signs of overheating until the concern has been evaluated. If there is smoke or fire, leave and call 911. Cleaning does not guarantee that every fire will be prevented.
Schedule Dryer Vent ServiceInternal Dryer Lint & Dust Cleaning
Lint and dust can accumulate inside a dryer as well as in the exhaust duct. Excessive buildup around internal areas can create additional safety concerns. Cleaning the filter or exterior duct does not necessarily remove lint from inside the cabinet.
Our Internal Dryer Lint & Dust Cleaning service removes accessible buildup from appropriate internal areas. Access and the work needed depend on the dryer design and condition.
Dryers must be properly disconnected from power before internal servicing. Gas dryers require additional care with fuel connections and other components. Have internal servicing performed by a qualified professional rather than removing panels or disturbing gas connections yourself.
Request Dryer CleaningRefrigerator Condenser Coil Cleaning
Dust, pet hair and debris can collect around accessible condenser coils and condenser areas on applicable refrigerators. Keeping these areas clean helps the refrigerator reject heat efficiently and may reduce unnecessary strain on the refrigeration system.
Designs vary. Some modern refrigerators have condenser areas that are not intended for routine homeowner cleaning. Check your specific manual before attempting access, and follow its instructions for disconnecting power and safe cleaning. Do not remove protected panels or disturb refrigeration lines.
Coil cleaning does not guarantee a longer life for every refrigerator or resolve every cooling problem. Persistent warmth, unusual noises or leaks may require diagnosis.
Refrigerator Maintenance & RepairWashing Machine Cleaning & Maintenance
Periodic cleaning according to the owner’s manual helps control detergent residue and odors. Use the recommended washer-cleaning cycle with an empty machine when instructed.
- Use cleaning tablets or products only when appropriate for your model and according to both manufacturers’ instructions.
- Use the correct detergent type and amount; excess detergent can leave residue.
- Clean accessible dispensers and door gaskets as directed.
- Remove laundry promptly and keep appropriate areas dry between uses when recommended.
- If leaving a door or lid open is recommended, consider access by children and pets.
Never mix cleaning products. Cleaning tablets cannot guarantee a longer appliance lifespan. Leaks, drain problems and error codes need attention beyond routine cleaning.
Washer Repair & MaintenanceOven Self-Cleaning & Safety
A high-temperature self-cleaning cycle burns food residue into ash. These cycles can reach extremely high temperatures; steam-clean and other designs operate differently. Consult your specific owner’s manual before using any self-clean feature.
- Follow the manufacturer’s preparation and operating instructions.
- Remove racks, cookware and other items when instructed.
- Maintain the ventilation specified for your model.
- Keep children and pets away during the cycle.
- Pay attention to unusual smoke, odors or operating conditions.
Do not start a self-clean cycle on an oven with an unresolved fault. Do not override the door lock or force the door open. Let the oven cool as instructed before removing residue. If smoke or unusual operation concerns you, stop the cycle as the manual directs; for fire or an immediate hazard, leave and call 911.
Oven & Range RepairDishwasher Cleaning & Maintenance
Routine cleaning helps maintain cleanliness and wash performance. Your manual identifies which filters and parts are accessible and how often they need care.
- Clean accessible filters where applicable and remove food or debris buildup.
- Inspect accessible spray-arm openings for blockages as the manual permits.
- Run manufacturer-recommended cleaning cycles.
- Use dishwasher cleaning products only according to the appliance and product instructions.
- Watch for leaks, poor drainage or unusual operation.
Do not reach into moving components or use sharp tools to force debris from openings. Routine cleaning does not guarantee that future repairs will be unnecessary. Persistent standing water, leaks or poor cleaning may need diagnosis.
Dishwasher Repair & MaintenanceCarbon Monoxide & Ventilation Safety
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas that can cause serious illness or death. Fuel-burning appliances need proper installation, ventilation and exhaust arrangements. Working CO alarms provide an important warning but do not replace correct equipment maintenance.
Follow alarm instructions and applicable requirements. Have suspected problems with fuel-burning equipment, combustion venting, furnaces or chimneys evaluated by an appropriately qualified professional. Never use a gas oven to heat your home.
If a CO alarm sounds or exposure is suspected
Leave the affected area immediately and get everyone to fresh air. Call 911 or the appropriate emergency authority from outside. Do not schedule a routine appliance appointment or re-enter until emergency responders say it is safe.
This page provides general awareness. C M All’s appliance services do not include HVAC, furnace, chimney, combustion-analysis or carbon-monoxide remediation services. CO alarm installation is not listed as a company service.
Smoke Detector Safety
Properly installed, functioning smoke detectors give occupants an early warning. Follow manufacturer instructions and applicable requirements for placement, testing, battery changes and detector replacement.
- Check placement inside and outside sleeping areas and on each level of the home.
- Test alarms regularly according to their instructions.
- Replace batteries when required; sealed-battery alarms have their own replacement instructions.
- Replace expired or malfunctioning detectors according to the manufacturer’s guidance.
C M All offers residential smoke detector installation/replacement where appropriate and within the company’s service scope. If an installation requires electrical work outside that scope, use an appropriately licensed professional. Hardwired alarm installation should be performed by a qualified electrician.
Request Smoke Detector InstallationAppliance Safety Inspections
C M All offers visual and functional inspections of applicable household appliances and accessible components for observable appliance-related concerns. Describe any overheating, unusual noise, odors, leaks or damaged accessible parts when requesting a visit.
The inspection focuses on the appliance and components that can appropriately be accessed. It is not a certified home, building-code, fire, HVAC, electrical or environmental inspection. It cannot guarantee that an appliance or the home is completely hazard-free.
When a concern falls outside appliance-repair scope, we recommend evaluation by the appropriate qualified professional. Immediate hazards should be handled through emergency services.
